ascent at Vauxhall Gardens 1849". Approximately 10" x
8", matted (could do with a new mount and frame). Please ignore any
'strange' pattern on the print as for some reason my digital camera is not
too happy to photograph old prints... the actual print is nice and clear. |

BARE-KNUCKLE FIGHTING
Extremely rare vintage Aquatint print of "The
Great Fight" between Broome and Hannan for £1000, which took place
January 26th, 1841, in the presence of Thousands of spectators, at New
Park Farm, near Bicester, Oxon, on the borders of Buckinghamshire.
London : John Moore, 1 June 1841. Aquatint, printed in colours and
finished by hand, by Charles Hunt Snr. Approx. 18" x 25.5". In
original frame.

print shows 13 ways and equipment,
in case of emergency at sea. Hand colored graphics. Approx. 8" x
6" (framed to an overall size of 13 1/2" x 10"). A little
bit of damage to the original frame (top corners), could do with
reframing.
I would estimate the print to be circa 1850's(?). |

3 wonderful & rare vintage
hand-coloured prints, overall size approximately 19 1/2" x 16
1/2", professionally framed and glazed as follows:
1) "The Duke of Wellington
and His Staff. Crossing the Bidossoa and entering France 1813".
London, published & sold August 1st 1818 by Edwd. Orme, publisher to
his Majesty and Regent, Bond Street corner of Brook Street. Also marked 'Rigaud
Pinxt(?)' & 'Dubourg Sc.'. Nice and bright, slight overall age toning.
2) "The Battle of Waterloo
decided by the Duke of Wellington. Heading a charge upon the French
Imperial Guards June 18th 1815". Published & sold Sept 1st 1815
by Edwd. Orme publisher to his Majesty & H.R.H. the Prince Regent,
Bond St. corner of Brook St. London. Also marked 'J.A. Atkinson Del.'
& 'M. Dubourg Sculp.'. In the distance you can clearly make
out Napoleon watching on what can only be described as a man made look-out
tower (see close-up photo). Slight overall age toning and
spotting.
3) "The Horse Guards at the
Battle of Waterloo. One of the Officers having Killed a French Colonel
cuts off his epaulette in triumph". Published & sold June 4th
1817 by Edward Orme, Bond St. corner of Brook St. London. Also marked
'Heath Del.' and 'M. Dubourg Sc.'. Slight overall age toning. |
