WWII
Fabulous black & white portrait of an aircraft (I'm sure an aviation expert can tell us which it is!(?)). The tail reads 'Royal Navy'.

72083(?), it has what looks like a Merlin Rolls Royce engine, guns in the wings and an observation area around the middle.

The back of the frame has an affixed sticker presumably from the original envelope (see photo).

Lovely and clear large original publicity photograph from "The Publicity Dept, Fairey Aviation Co. Ltd., Heston".

Overall size is approximately 21" x 16". Could do with a new frame, the old tape has split and come loose.

Vintage leaflet dropped (apparently from Lancaster C-Charlie) over "Elberfeld-Wuppertal Raid June 1943" (which has been handwritten to the top left). The front appears to show the tonnage of bombs dropped on London and Dortmund over 3 years, culminating with the huge tonnage of 1943 from bomber command, compared to the German tonnage of only 50 tons on London.

The reverse has a speech from Churchill, and a graphic of Hitler marching with the devil through a bomb site. There are also quotes from Goering from 1938, Hermann Burte 1940 and Field Marshall Milch 1941. Just over 10" x 8 1/2", overall creases, lightweight book paper.

Large cylindrical tin depicting Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin and ...(incredibly rare) Chiang Kai-shek. Graphic is in fine condition for a 57 year old tin, however there is an L shaped bald patch to the lower left (not affecting main graphic). The inside is wonderfully clear of rust. Overall condition is 8/10. £125

ZEPPELIN
Vintage 1930’s LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin postcard souvenir pull-out booklet, with cachet to front stating they were sold on the return from the world voyage "Zur Erinnerung an die Rückkehr des Luftschiffes Graf Zeppelin von der Weltreise". The front also states that it contains 10 different real photographic postcards. These depict Count Zeppelin and interiors of the LZ127, including cabin, lounge, kitchen etc…, Friedrichshafen and a diagram of the Airship. It is in good condition considering its age. Approx. 6" x 4.5". Rare.

LZ 127, the Graf Zeppelin - Arguably the most important Zeppelin ever built, the Graf Zeppelin proved what could be done with a properly run and maintained Zeppelin. The Graf Zeppelin was the ultimate in passenger air travel for the day and could put any modern commercial jet to shame when it comes to comfort and style. The Graf was first walked out of her hangar on the 18th of September, 1928. She would fly farther than any Zeppelin before or since.
